Chapter Sixteen
Breakfast at Amanda’s and Maurice’s was extremely awkward. One reason being Amanda had seen something she could not believe. Maurice did not know how to bring up what happened with Daren and Sheila at the club. So they sat at the table chewing quietly.
“So how was last night?” Amanda asked Maurice while looking at Daren.
Daren had the nastiest look possible on his face. He came to the realization that Amanda was the one who had walked in on him and Sheila; he hated the way Amanda was going about torturing him.
“Was a good night, we went to the Moon then to Mo’s.”
“Mo’s, why Mo’s?” she said almost scornfully.
“I was saying the same thing,” Daren finally spoke.
“You were saying a lot of things Daren,” Maurice said messing around.
Daren wanted no part of it. He rolled his eyes and focused on his eggs.
“What happened to that girl, ah what’s her name? Damn, I think I had too much to drink last night.”
Amanda looked at Maurice bewildered. “Tell me something new.”
Maurice knew exactly what she meant. “I really need to quit.”
“You say that every time you go drinking.”
Amanda got up from the table to go get the ketchup.
“Dude what happened to that girl?” Maurice asked Daren this time looking into his eyes to see if Daren would lie.
“We really gon’ go there?”
“I’m just saying.”
“Well she went home,” Daren said not wanting to venture any further.
“Did you?” Maurice made the signal for fucking with his finger and hand. The whole time he was laughing.
“What the fuck do you mean?” Daren was livid, he was beside himself; he had that how dare you look on his face.
“I’m just playing,” Maurice said still laughing.
Amanda sat back down.
“What are you two talking about?”
“I’m just messing with Daren about this girl he brought back here.”
“Mmm hmm,” Amanda said looking at Daren.
“What, why you looking at me for?”
Amanda had seen the whole thing so he didn’t know what to say.
He searched in his head for a few seconds.
“Whatever, I don’t know why you’re Mmm hmm-ing me,” was the best he came up with.
“We gotta talk ,” Amanda said still looking at Daren accusingly.
“Alliyah gets back today right?” Maurice wanted to break the tension.
“Yeah, her grandmother said she would drop her off at about three but you know what that means.”
“Five,” they both said in unison.
Daren smiled at how much they had grown into almost one person.
“How was your evening?”
Amanda paused for a second and imagined Max’s steely hard dick sliding slowly into her.
“I was just here, watching TV, getting some me time.”
She did not feel any guilt about cheating on Maurice. As far as she knew he had cheated on her a million times. He had cheated her out of her entire twenties and all he ever wanted to do was hang with his boys. She had desires, she had wants, and since he was too busy she needed to handle her business. Plus it was not like she searched out Max; it all got started by accident.
